Did you know?A person standing under an oak tree is 16 more times liable to be hit by lightning than if he had taken refuge beneath a beech tree. The oak tree has vertical roots which provide a more direct route to ground water. |
Aspidistra is a great container plant for indoors or heavily shaded places, surviving easily outdoors. It’s tolerance of low light and drought is legendary, but of course a little attention now and again will keep it looking its best. It’s popularity in times past make it suitable for heritage houses and gardens. The Aspidistra has perhaps been somewhat under-appreciated more recently but, like many of the old favourites, it’s bound to be taken up by landscapers looking for something reliable for dry and dark corners. The elegant and bold leaf form would not look out of place in a tropical or modern style of garden. Aspidistra is a perennial which grows to a height of 0.6m and a width of 0.45m. It can grow in full or semi shaded areas. For further information about our plants range, please contact us. |
