Did you know?

No species of wild plant produces a flower or blossom that is absolutely black, and so far, none has been developed artificially.

The rubber plant is an evergreen fig which has thick, dark green leaves containing a latex-like sap. Once cultivated for its white latex to make India rubber, it has large, glossy, leathery leaves and a stout, buttressed trunk. It does not need as much light as many other indoor plants.

The rubber plant is very good at removing chemical vapours from the air and is especially effective at removing formaldehyde. Formaldehyde is the most commonly found toxin in indoor air and, because of this, a plant’s ability to remove it from the air is used as the standard for rating the plant’s effectiveness.
